PVD coatings on abrasive and stamping tools are widely used in automotive, airspace and other industries.
We can propose new multigradient borides/carbides types of coating for increasing cutting and stamping abilities. The novelty and uncommon element in this coating is higher coating thickness of up to 50 µm. The production process combines well-known nitrides/carbides formation in ionized gas plasma with direct sublimation of borides and carbides from the overheated ceramic source. The process is conducted in the EB PVD deposition unit.
